This blog is the best!!
On Thursday March twentyth it was my birthday. I went to dinner at my grandmas place and it was great, while I was at my grandmas my cousin Maile was coming down from Hamilton to my house to stay till Monday. When I got home from dinner he gave me a present . The next day we went to Hastings to stay at one of my mums friends place, we got there at about 1:00, we just jumped in bed and went to sleep. On Saturday when we woke up we had breakfast then we all jumped in the cars,(there were about 5 adults and 7 children). At splash planet it was so fun! there was mini golf and flying foxes and racing cars and jeeps all these dry events, then in the middle there is a big swimming area with bumper boats and hydro-slides and playground with water underneath and a volleyball area. There was also a train that went around the whole fun park. My favourite ride was the hydro-slides, there was a huge castle with open and closed slides. The scariest ride was my favourite, it was dark and it really bumps and pushes you around. I went with my friends Pare and maile, we weren’t aloud going at the same time so I stopped in the middle and the maile stopped next to me, when Pare came zooming around and bowled into us and we all went down the scary bumpy slide in a big knot, at the bottom we slided out so fast we all flew and I flew straight into this pole and it was sore. We did that about a million times!!!!!!!!!!We also jumped in the whirl pool which was great!I had a great time!
My goals for term 1 are…
1. I aim to get into the netball and basketball team for the really good people by practicing in my hoop at home every day and keeping fit
.2. I aim to play a proper song apart from Mary had a little lamb on my flute by practicing every night when I have spare time and learning the notes of by heart.
3. I aim to pick up from where I left in my karate and hope to grade into my white belt really soon by going to the dojo every Tuesday and Thursday without missing one night.
4. I aim to gain confidence when I am speaking in front of the class and speak clear and loud by starting with talking in front of my friends then gradually bigger audiences.
5. I aim to know my division of by heart practicing at my house every night maybe when I am doing chores.
6. I aim to read more books then I usually do by taking ten or fifteen minutes out of my spare time at home and read, maybe before I go to bed.
7. I aim to get all my work done on time by making a schedule at home and not mucking around in class.
8. I aim to learn the opening and closing karakia off by heart by taking a copy home and practicing infront of my mum.
9. I aim to learn how to say one whole sentence about myself in french by practicing and listening when Mrs Shaw is teaching us french.
In 2006 I was at Pokuru school and I saw an advertisement in the newsletter for trials for rep netball, so I thought I might have a chance at getting in so I went and trialled with some of my friends and I found out that I got in so I was really happy. Atthe end of the year we got to trial again for this year because we might not be that good after the holidays so I trialled again with some of my friends and I was the only one who got in out of Pokuru school so that was great. Now that it’s 2008 rep netball should be starting around about now. I cant wait because it will be challenging and fun!!
My dad lives in Melbourne Australia and he moved there when I was really little, since he moved he now has a girlfriend who he is about to marry and I have two half brothers who he lives with and a little half sister who lives in Auckland. I fly over to Australia as an unnoccampanied minor because he does not pay for mum to come, on the plane I watch movies and eat lots of yummy stuff like ice-cream. When the planes almost there the hostesses need someone to hand out lots of lollies and I offer to and everyone only takes two each and I get the rest, I just shove all of them into the bags that people barf in. Since I live in New Zealand he pays for my tickets to fly over to Australia and see himm every Christmas but sometimes I fly over to Tonga to see his parents my nanna and grandpa, I always get sunburnt badly over there. But back in Australia, when I go over there we always do something really fun. Usually we all go to Luna park, it’s so fun there, there is lots of fun rides like roller coasters and stuff to ride on. My favourite ride was these little cars that fly around in mid air and go faster and faster, plus the bumper cars are really fun because im a great driver. My step mother takes me on a big shopping spree for lots of clothes and shoes, she is really cool too. My dad used to live in a really big house and it was cool and flash. Overall I think I liked playing with my baby brothers and watching scary movies with my step mother while eating ice-cream. I have alot of cousins that I stay at and aunties and uncles. My favourite cousins in Australia are Lillian, hepi and Angi. They are tongan and samoan. My brothers are half tongan half samoan. When we leave dad always gives me some money too. The next time Im going is april holidays, I can’t wait!!!!
Complete darkness, slowly a bright light slides out from under the door, creeping across the floor boards , getting closer and closer, the door bangs open, I see bars between the doorway peering through I find myself gazing upon the view of hundreds of doors from sky high down to my feet, staring down at me. Tempting doors calling out my name for me to come and see what lies within. The sun shines so brightly, so gently on the bars they melt it straight down into the ground. I ran hurriedly toward the doors with excitement. I walked slowly to the first door. It looked old and blue with vines drooping down the edges. I reached my hand out for the door handle, but before I could reach it ,it flew open without and\y help of wind, I peeked in without stepping in I saw a spooky forest. So I skipped that door, then the next door looked familiar. As if id seen it before. I realized that it was my door. I put my hand on the door knob and turned it but it didn’t turn, then I realized that I put a lock on my door, I reached into my pajama pants and found the key I unlocked it then when I stepped in ….BAM…I woke up from a deep sleep.
When I was nine years old I quit Seido Karate because I was tired of it, I was a blue belt yellow tip and by now I probably would have been almost green belt. This year I am almost twelve and started back there two weeks ago, but this time I go there with one of my mums friends sons Bejae. I have to start from no belt now because I have forgotten most of the Katas and words in japanese. Everytime I do something I remember that we used to do it when I was eight. On Tuesdays we have sensay Rubin and on Thursdays we have sensay Mike who is the most skilled sensay, we have to be on our best behaviour or else we have to do heaps of pressups and sit ups etc…

This book that I chose is an adventure story with a streak of laughter, love and sadness. The main subjects are hiking, accidents and friendship. This book is about seven teenagers and there teacher who go hiking up the peninsula thinking they will have a great time, little do they know what they just signed their selves up for. This story started off a bit confusing but by the time it was near the middle I was totally hooked in to the story. They were going on a 14 hour hike and their destination was a light house along a beach, when they arrived there that’s when all their problems started, two people went missing and they all split up looking for help and almost everyone some how got hurt.
Throughout the story characters my personal favourite was Jake, he is a bit of a bad driver but he had a cheeky sense of humour and also had another side of him that people hadn’t met until he was stuck with Samantha in the bush,
Another favourite was Samantha (preferably Sam) she told the story, I thought she was really caring towards Martin and Jake.
The character that I felt sorry for was martin because his mother always bashes him and he goes to school with bruises all over him and a couple of black eyes, he just says he fell over. It’s really quite sad, also I think that Mr Collins parents were a bit uptight blaming the class that went on the hike for his death. After they went out of their way carving his headstone.
I think that the author maybe could have focused on Mr Collins death and if they had found anything lying in the sea a couple years later, the author also could have explained how the children in his class back at school felt about this.
