This blog is the best!!
At school we are having a science fair and everyone has to participate. My science fair question is “what effect do salt levels have on water boiling times?”. I finished it on the day that it was due but it was because it was due on a Monday and in the weekend I lost my conclusion and had to print it off again at school. Today we set our boards up in the ALC and im glad that I finished it on time.
Today I also finished my report on Tibet and im happy because I don’t have anymore work to do for the rest of this term!

This story’s about a boy Hector who lives in a city of 102 people in darkness underground and manages to find his way up to the outside where he meets Diana, a girl whose family is the only people left alive from the terrible disease that has spread everywhere. Hector lives with them for a couple of months and gets used to the life styles of which they live and realizes that some things need to be changed down below where he lives.
My favourite part of this book is when Diana and Hector first meet, because they think so little of each other and are scared to go near each other because of what they have been told of the disease, but that changes throughout the story and they become great friends as if they were brother and sister.
My favourite character would be Diana because she is kind and adventurous and was caring towards Hector, like when he first arrived at her house she looked after him till he was healthy and fit again. I also like it how she was the only person out of 102 people that was underground to have the courage to stand up to the evil counsellor that was ruining all their lives.
The character that I disliked would be the counsellor because he is selfish and greedy and only thinks of himself. He ruins happy families and persuades people to stay underground but will imprison them down there FOREVER. I think that this is terrible and he deserved to die after he took lots of lives and made everyone obey him as if he were king. I think that he is a evil genius and actually killed himself, because he is the culprit who flooded the underground city which killed himself.
The event that hooked me into this book was the big flood. It got me thinking “were they going to survive?’, “If they die will humans be extinct?” it was all exciting and made me want to read more.
I like this book because it was really interesting and in every chapter there was something new and exciting to read about. Once you understand it, it hooks you in like a fish.
If there was one thing I could change in this book it would be the beginning, because I couldn’t understand it properly till the next chapter. But from then on it was great!
On the 29th May all the year sevens got their tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough injection. At 9:15 we got our injections. While I was waiting in line I was shaking like mad because I was cold, but most of all, because I was scared about getting my injection, when it was my turn I sat down on the chair that the nurse told me to sit on and she asked me about Tonga. When she finished talking to me I just looked away hinting that I wanted to get it over and done with, just before she put the injection in my arm I quickly had a glance towards her and I saw a sharp scary needle entering my arm, I could feel it running down the inside of my arm and before I knew it, it was over and she told me I could go and watch the movie. I took a big sigh of relief and went and sat down next to my friends and watched the movie.
On Tuesday 19 May I trialled for the inter intermediate netball team. In the first half of the game I played GK and I intercepted quite a lot of passes and I thought I was playing quite well. Then in the second game I played my most favorite position GD. When I was playing I hardly let my partner get the ball. Throughout the whole trial I thought I did good and once they had finished talking to themselves for a couple of minutes they said that they will be holding another trial because it was too hard to pick who got in. I thought that they should of picked who got in to the team, then leave it till later. But I want to trial again soon.
My goals for term 1 are…

4. I aim to gain confidence when I am speaking in front of the class and speak clear and loud by starting with talking in front of my friends then gradually bigger audiences.
5. I aim to know my division of by heart practicing at my house every night maybe when I am doing chores.

Complete darkness, slowly a bright light slides out from under the door, creeping across the floor boards , getting closer and closer, the door bangs open, I see bars between the doorway peering through I find myself gazing upon the view of hundreds of doors from sky high down to my feet, staring down at me. Tempting doors calling out my name for me to come and see what lies within. The sun shines so brightly, so gently on the bars they melt it straight down into the ground. I ran hurriedly toward the doors with excitement. I walked slowly to the first door. It looked old and blue with vines drooping down the edges. I reached my hand out for the door handle, but before I could reach it ,it flew open without and\y help of wind, I peeked in without stepping in I saw a spooky forest. So I skipped that door, then the next door looked familiar. As if id seen it before. I realized that it was my door. I put my hand on the door knob and turned it but it didn’t turn, then I realized that I put a lock on my door, I reached into my pajama pants and found the key I unlocked it then when I stepped in ….BAM…I woke up from a deep sleep.
